1. Who we are

2. What we collect and why

When you subscribe to Talking Features. The form asks for your name, station, work email and, if you choose, your programme or role. We save your sign-up on our website and email it to our newsdesk so we can add you to the Talking Features list. Our legal basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form.

When you contact the newsdesk. If you email or phone us, we keep the correspondence so we can arrange guests, features or prizes and keep a record of what we agreed. Our legal basis is legitimate interests: you have asked us to get in touch.

When you visit the site. Our web host and security service keep short-term technical logs, including your IP address, to keep the site running and protect it from attack. Our legal basis is legitimate interests. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies on this site.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for automated decisions about you.

3. Who we share it with

We use a small number of suppliers who act on our instructions:

• Hostinger, which hosts the website and stores form sign-ups.
• Cloudflare, which delivers the website securely.
• Microsoft, which provides our email.
• Google, which supplies the fonts this site uses. Your browser fetches them from Google, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

4. Information sent outside the UK

Some of these suppliers process information outside the UK, including in the European Union and the United States. When that happens we rely on the safeguards UK law allows, such as the UK’s adequacy regulations, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or the international data transfer agreement approved by the Information Commissioner.

5. How long we keep it

• Talking Features subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, then removed from our list.
• Newsdesk correspondence: two years from our last contact with you.
• Technical logs: kept by our host and security service for a short period, usually no more than 30 days.

6. Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to limit how we use it, object to our use of it, or withdraw your consent at any time. To unsubscribe or use any of these rights, email news@imngroup.co.uk. We will reply within one month, and there is normally no charge.

7. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at news@imngroup.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
